How can you spot an AI-generated image?

Look closely at the details. AI-generated images often contain subtle inconsistencies that can give them away.

• Reflections, shadows and lighting may not behave naturally or consistently throughout the image.
• Textures and fine details can appear overly smooth, repetitive or distorted upon closer inspection.
• Complex patterns and backgrounds are common trouble spots, sometimes containing strange artifacts or visual anomalies.
• Intersections between objects may reveal irregular edges, blending issues or unrealistic transitions.
• Symmetry, proportions and perspective can also provide clues, as AI occasionally struggles to accurately replicate real-world geometry.

The key is to slow down and examine the image carefully—many AI-generated images look convincing at first glance, but their imperfections often become apparent under closer scrutiny.
