Miami, Fla, – June 13, 2008 – rbb Public Relations is the recipient of this year’s prestigious Silver Anvil Award sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The award was given for the Reputation/Brand Management category and entitled FPL’s Storm Secure Program Leaves Hurricanes in the Past. The Silver Anvil, which recognizes outstanding achievement in strategic public relations planning and implementation, was presented during the Silver Anvil Awards Evening held June 5th in New York City.
The winning campaign, which also won a Holmes’ Report Gold SABRE this year, “FPL’s Storm Secure Program Leaves Hurricanes in the Past,” was launched to allay customer fears and bolster confidence after suffering the effects of seven hurricanes making landfall within 15 months. The program instilled public confidence in FPL’s ability to provide reliable electrical service in the event of future storms. FPL has been an rbb client for 16 years.

“We are proud of the national recognition this program has earned,” said rbb CEO Christine Barney. “These awards are testament to the fact that rbb’s programs meet the profession’s highest standards of performance.”

rbb Public Relations is the only Florida firm to be recognized by all the major industry awards. This year, rbb stunned the PR industry by taking home the “PR Agency of the Year 2008” title after repeating as winner of the Small Agency of the Year award. In 2007, rbb was the only boutique firm nationwide to be awarded multiple Silver Anvils. The Wall Street Journal also took notice, naming rbb one of the best places to work, nationwide in 2008 and 2007. These accolades sit proudly beside the firm’s other major industry awards – Platinum PR, PR WEEK, Bronze Anvil, Gold SABRE and more.
